The FILL Women's Wrestling Championship

The Federación Internacional de Lucha Libre (FILL) Women's Wrestling Championship hasn't been around as long as some of the others.
On July 25th, 2004 Christie Ricci was named the first champion...

But sometime after that, Princesa Sujei became the second champion.
On March 27th 2005, Dark Angel defeated Princesa Sujei for the title at the Arena Coliseo Monterrey in Mexico.
Somehow Dulce Poly wound up with the title and lost it to La Bruja on December 17th, 2006 at the Arena Coliseo Monterrey.
Then La Bandida defeated Dulce Poly for the belt on Februrary 27th, 2007.

AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship

Besides the Reina de Reinas Championship, Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion has a Championship that women can compete for that's a little different than here in the US.
They have the World Mixed Tag Team Championship.
True the WWE has mixed tag team matches at times, but it's not elevated to this status here.

On June 15, 2003 in Naucalpan, México, Electro Shock and Lady Apache won the first AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship by defeating Gran Apache and Fabi Apache, El Brazo and Martha Villalobos and Chessman and Tiffany in an elimination match.
That must have been kinda weird since Lady Apache is married to Electro Shock, and she was once married to Gran Apache and Fabi had been her step daughter.

Chessman and Tiffany won the titles on September 16, 2003 in San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí.

Gran Apache and Faby Apache won the belts on August 1, 2004 in Guadalupe, Puebla by defeating Electro Shock and Lady Apache, Chessman and Tiffany and Orientál and Cynthia Moreno in a four-way match.
The title was vacated on July 17, 2005 when Fabi Apache didn't show up for a title defense.

Orientál and Cynthia Moreno (brother/sister) won the titles on December 10, 2005 in Guadalajara, Jalisco by defeating Chessman and La Diabólica in a tournament final.
The title was again vacated on November 30, 2007 when Cynthia was injured.

Gran Apache and Mari Apache won the belts on November 30, 2007 in Madero, Tamaulipas after defeating Billy Boy and Fabi Apache, Espiritu and La Diabolica and Ayako Hamada and Mr. Niebla in a four-way match.

And finally Orientál and Cynthia Moreno won the titles on September 14, 2008 in Zapopan, Jalisco at the Verano de Escandalo.

There seems to be a lot of husband/wife, father/daughter, boyfriend/girlfriend wrestling going on in Mexico.
I wonder why Vince hasn't caught onto that yet?

The AAA Reina de Reinas Title

Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) doesn't have a women's championship as such, they have an annual tournament called AAA Reina de Reinas (Queen of Queens). Even though it's won in a tournament the belt is defended occasionally.
Reina de Reinas started as a four way matches in a tournament format, but has changed formats since.

The first Reina de Reinas Tournament was won by Xóchitl Hamada in 1999.
To win the first round, Xóchitl had to defeat Alda Moreno, La Fugtiva and Venus in a four way match. Then she had to go on to best Miss Janeth, Rossy Moreno and Esther Moreno to win the title.
Xóchitl defended the title on October 6th, 1999 against Esther Moreno and lost. They clashed again on November 5th 1999 with Ester again retaining the title.

The second Reina de Reinas Tournament in 2000 was won by Rossy Moreno, who had to defeat previous champion Xochitl Hamada, Martha Villalobos and Miss Janeth in the final match.
Then on June 16th, 2000, Rossy Moreno had to defend the title against Martha Villalobos. Rossy won because of a DQ.

In 2001, Lady Apache defeated Miss Janeth, Tiffany, and Alda Moreno to win the title.
Lady Apache had a rougher reign, having to defend the title against Miss Janeth, AKINO and Tiffany to retain the Reina de Reina belt.

2002's tournament had a bit of a twist, as both Miss Janeth and Martha Villalobos were eliminated in the final match, leaving Esther Moreno and Lady Apache. The match was considered a draw, but Esther was recognized as a Reina de Reinas champion.
Either way, Martha Villalobos defeated Esther Moreno on May 4th, 2002 to win the Reina de Reina championship.

2003 is also a bit of a mystery, with some reports having Martha Villalobos defeating Fabi Apache and Lady Apache to win the title.

Sometime between 2003 and 2004, Tiffany won the Reina de Reinas championship (there was no tournament held in 2004 so I don't know how she got the title). Anyway, Lady Apache defeated Tiffany on May 5th, 2004 to win the title. This led to five more matches between the two during the year, with Lady Apache winning all of them.

In 2005, The 6th Reina de Reinas tournament was held in Mexico City on February 20th. In the final, Tiffany beat Lady Apache to win the crown. Tiffany then went on to defend the title twice that year, both times against Lady Apache. Tiffany won both matches.

In 2006, Miss Janeth defeated La Diabolica to win the title.
AAA also held a special Reina de Reinas Internacional match that year, with Cinthia Moreno winning the title.

In 2007 the Reina de Reinas Tournament turned into a melee, with the final match being Sexi Star, Fabi Apache, Cinthia Moreno, Rossy Moreno, Tiffany, and Miss Janeth. The match quickly turned into a 3 on 3 contest with Sexi Star, Fabi Apache, and Cinthia Moreno teaming up against Rossy Moreno, Tiffany, and Miss Janeth.
At the end of this wild brawl, the Reyna of Reynas was Tiffany.

Finally in 2008 the tournament started with fifteen women and got down to Fabi Apache, Mari Apache and Ayako Hamada.
Fabi won, making her the Reyna of Reynas of 2008.

The CMLL World Women's Wrestling Championship

The CMLL World Women's Wrestling Championship has a long and illustrious history.
Some of the biggest stars in lucha libre have held the title.

Bull Nakano won the title first on June 12, 1992 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal. She defeated Lola González after she and Lola had both become finalists in a 12-woman battle royal.
Xóchitl Hamada defeated Bull Nakano on March 21, 1993 to take the title.
Then La Diabólica defeated Xóchitl Hamada on October 10, 1993.
Reina Jubuki (a masked Akira Hokuto) beat La Diabólica on July 30, 1994, but was stripped of the title on November 4, 1996, because she wrestled in a match against Madusa on WCW Monday Nitro.
Lady Apache then won the title on November 8, 1996 after winning a four-woman tournament.
She held the title until February 6, 1997, when Mariko Yoshida defeated her in Tokyo, Japan.
Mariko Yoshida was stripped of the title in February 1999 for not defending it.
Lady Apache got it back, but then lost it again on August 18, 2000 because she jumped ship and went to AAA.
The title was given back to La Diabólica, till she was stripped of it as well for doing the same thing Lady Apache did, going to the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA).
Another 12-woman tournament was held on on September 9, 2005, and Marcela defeated Dark Angel (Sarah Stock) in the finals to take the title.
(Raven) Hiroka defeated Marcela on June 9, 2006 to win the title, and held it till she was defeated by the returning Lady Apache on Christmas Day in 2006.
Lady Apache held it until November 16, 2007, when she was defeated by Amapola in Mexico City.

Since then, Amapola has manged to hold onto the title, defending against other great lucadoras like Luna Magica, Marcela, Dark Angel, Princesa Blanca and Lady Apache.
Also Amapola is technically still the IWRG Intercontinental Women's Wrestling Champion.
