 You know how in the WWE when a male WWE Superstar confronts a WWE Diva, the Diva usually goes into a fetal position and another male WWE Superstar has to rescue her?
Well that is NOT the case in Lucha Underground.
AAA Luchadora and Lucha Underground star Sexy Star has fought men since the get-go and now her BFF Taya is doing the same thing.

Yeah, Taya got in the ring with HIM!

Of course inter-gender matches happen a lot in Mexico and they even have a Mixed Tag Team title there.
But here in the US it has been a different story except for the Indies and Lucha Underground.
Taya may get her butt kicked, but she gives it 110%

Mickie James vs Faby Apache in Mexico

Here is former WWE Diva and TNA Knockout Mickie James getting the better of Lucha Libre star Faby Apache.
I think this is at AAA's Triplemanía XIX back in 2011, but I'm not sure.
That was when La Legión Extranjera (Angelina Love, Mickie James, Sexy Star and Velvet Sky) defeated Cynthia Moreno, Faby Apache, Mari Apache and Lolita in an eight woman tag team match.

Jennifer Blake - Canadian Luchadora

Born Jennifer Ykema on September 16th, 1983 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, Jennifer Blake is another Canadian female wrestler that has achieved fame in Mexico in Lucha Libre.
Jennifer, Taya Valkyrie, Dark Angel and Aurora all made the jump down there and have done very well.

"Girl Dynamite" works for the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) wrestling promotion in Mexico and has been a member of both La Legión Extranjera and La Sociedad.

LuFisto vs Faby Apache - Lucha Libre

Here is French Canadian female pro wrestler LuFisto trying to give luchadora Faby Apache a facelift.
The hard way....from a Camel Clutch.
LuFisto has worked for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) and I'm not sure but I think this picture may be from the finals of a tournament for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship on March 17th at Rey de Reyes.

Mexican Luchadoras - Goya Kong

The WWE might not consider Gloria Alvarado Nava your typical "Diva", but Lucha Libre fans love her as Luchadora Goya Kong.
Gloria is five foot seven and weighs in at 187 pounds.
She is a third generation wrestler and part of the Alvarado wrestling family, which includes over 20 active and retired luchadores and luchadoras.
I bet their family reunions are a blast!

Goya was trained by Hijo del Gladiador and made her wrestling debut in 2007, as a masked luchadora wrestling matches for Asistencia, Asesoría y Administración (AAA).
She left AAA and went to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in 2010.
La Chica del Plata ("The Silver Girl") as she is nicknamed lost her mask to Princesa Blanca in an Infierno en el Ring steel cage match.
Eight women went in and only Goya and Blanca were left when Blanca pinned her and took her mask.

In 2013, Goya won the Trofeo Arena Coliseo 70 Aniversario, defeating Marcela, Estrellita, Dalys La Caribeña, Silueta, La Amapola, Princesa Sugey, Princesa Blanca, Zeuxis and Tiffany.
No small feat.

The Princesa Blanca vs Dalys la Caribeña feud in CMLL.
First we have a really nice picture of luchadoras Princesa Blanca and Dalys la Caribeña laying the stare-down on each other.

Although these two are "mortal enemies", Blanca and Dalys are related by marriage.
Blanca Rodríguez aka Princesa Blanca is Dalys' sister-in-law.

CMLL kinda keeps that on the down-low, but if I were them, I would play that up.
Everybody loves a good family feud.

Lola Gonzales - Mexican Female Wrestlers

Here's some "old school" pictures of Luchadora Lola Gonzales.
Lola was the sister of luchadora Leslie Gonzalez and was pretty much a legend in Lucha Libre.
Although her main claim to fame was in Mexico, she also wrestled in other countries including the United States and Japan.

During her career she held the Mexican National Women's Championship twice, the JDStar TWF World Women's Championship, the NWA California Women's Championship, Universal Wrestling Association World Women's Championship four times, the WWA World Women's Championship, the Occidente Women's Championship and the EWWL Women's Championship.

She regularly worked for Universal Wrestling Association (UWA), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA).

Mari Apache and Fabi Apache - Mexican Female Wrestlers

The Apache sisters Mari and Fabi in happier times.

Both ladies are doing pretty well in lucha libre at the moment.
Fabi is the Reina de Reinas Champion (she beat LuFisto, Mari Apache and Taya Valkyrie in a tournament to win the title).
And Mari is one half of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions, along with Halloween.

I havent done a roster listing in quite a while so here are the luchadoras currently on the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) roster (to the best of my knowledge).

One thing I noticed in looking at this roster is that a large portion of these luchadoras are in their 30s and 40s.
Mima is 42 and Marcela is 41.
That would be a little unusual in the WWE, but not in lucha libre.

Dark Angel - Sarah Stock Back In CMLL

As you may know, on January 9th, 2013, Sarita (Sarah Stock) parted ways with TNA wrestling.
While I was sad to hear this, Sarah hadn't wrestled for TNA in over seven months.
But TNA's loss is lucha libre's gain as Sarah is back in CMLL.
And may I say that she is looking better than ever.

Seriously...she has developed the body of a fitness model since leaving TNA.
I know she has won the CMLL Bodybuilding Contest six years in a row, but I think this is her best.

We're Back!

After about two months, today Blogger finally re-instated this blog.
To tell you the truth I had given up hope.
I was in the process of moving stuff out of here and putting it on my other luchadora blog (always back up your stuff) so now I have to figure out what to do.
I'm thinking about making this one more AAA and the other more CMLL and independent Mexican wrestling promotions.
But either way I am still in the process of replacing Image Shack pics (since they announced their new uploading limits) on my old posts.

Wow...I thought I was out of things to say about Sexy Star yesterday.
Ummm...okay, her entrance theme is a song called "Sexy Movimiento" done by the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin and Yandel.
The song was so popular that it hit number one on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs, Latin Tropical Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay.

Here we are at day 27 with luchadora Sexy Star.
But before she was Sexy Star, she was Dulce Poly.
Dulce Poly debuted in Federacion Internacional de Lucha Libre (FILL) on August 29th, 2006.

 Teamed up with one of her trainers, Humberto Garza, Jr., they won the FILL Mixed Tag Team Championship.
And Dulce Poly also won the FILL Women's Championship, defeating La Bruja on December 17th, 2006.
She lost the title to La Bandida on February 27, 2007 at Arena Coliseo Monterrey.

As I mentioned yesterday, she defeated Pimpinela Escarlata (Scarlet Pimpernel) in a lumberjack match to win the belt for the second time.
Okay...so she won by hitting Escarlata in the back with a baseball bat covered in barbwire.
She is a rudo after all!
