Jennifer Blake - Canadian Luchadora

Born Jennifer Ykema on September 16th, 1983 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, Jennifer Blake is another Canadian female wrestler that has achieved fame in Mexico in Lucha Libre.
Jennifer, Taya Valkyrie, Dark Angel and Aurora all made the jump down there and have done very well.

"Girl Dynamite" works for the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) wrestling promotion in Mexico and has been a member of both La Legión Extranjera and La Sociedad.

 http://luchawomen.blogspot.com/

It's day ten and here is (wait for it...) yes another shot of Luchadora Sexy Star, the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion.
As I mentioned yesterday, she defeated Pimpinela Escarlata (Scarlet Pimpernel) in a lumberjack match to win the belt for the second time.
Okay...so she won by hitting Escarlata in the back with a baseball bat covered in barbwire.
She is a rudo after all!

Kitzune Nanoko - Lucha Libre AAA

This is masked luchadora Kitzune Nanoko.
If you look very closely, you may recognize her as joshi puroresu wrestler Mio Shirai, who was one half of the tag team Sexy Purple Thunder Sisters (possibly the coolest tag team name ever in womens wrestling) along with her younger sister Io Shirai.

In September of this year, Mio showed up as Kitzune Nanoko in Mexico wrestling for Grupo Internacional Revolucion (IWRG).
In IWRG she teamed up with Biba Kasa, who was none other than her sister Io.
Then, she showed up in Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion (AAA) teaming up with Alissa Flash (Cheerleader Melissa) to take on and defeat Cinthia and Esther Moreno.

In Japan, Mio used wrestling and MMA style moves in the ring, and was known for being "stiff".
I'm wondering if Kitzune Nanoko and Biba Kasa might wind up being a force in AAA.

Elizabeth Wrestling Afrodita - Colombian Wrestling Superstars

Here is something a little different.
Okay...a LOT different than what we usually have here.
It's Lucha Libre, with Luchadoras...but it's from Colombia.

This is Primer Campeonato Internacional de Lucha X-treme CWS and it's a match between Elizabeth (from Bolivia) and Afrodita (from Peru) posted by JOHANMAEM2006 on YouTube.

You may notice that Elizabeth is a cholita, luchadoras that don't wear the usual wrestling attire, but the traditional dress of the Aimara women, skirts, pompoms, bowler hats, shawls and sometimes wrestle barefoot.
She weighs 154 pounds and stands 5 foot 3 inches tall.

Afrodita is wearing what looks like classic "old school" lucha libre wrestling gear.
She could have stepped right out of the sixties.

You can check out the Colombian Wrestling Superstars wrestling promotion here:

Faby Apache and Aerostar Wrestling Alex Koslov and Christina Von Eerie

Christina Von Eerie

This match is a little different.
It's Faby Apache and Aerostar taking on Alex Koslov and Christina Von Eerie in a mixed tag-team match in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA).

Faby Apache

The match is also for the mixed tag team championship.

Of course in Lucha Libre, a mixed match isn't a one-sided joke like it is in the WWE here.
The women get and give just as good as the men do.

Alex Koslov quickly learns this as Faby takes him down right off the bat.

And in a moment, she has a leg lock submission hold clamped on.

Several quick exchanges, reversals, and lighting fast lucha libre moves later, it looks like Faby and Aerostar have everything under control.

But Alex catches Faby with a forearm and the tide of the battle changes.
Then Aerostar gets double-teamed, then Faby, then everyone is in (and outside) the ring.

It's a decent match, I would have liked to seen Christina Von Eerie and Faby mix it up more, but hey, you can't have everything.

Luchadora Hija De Karonte

Hija De Karonte (the daughter of famous luchador Karonte) was born on April 12, 1980 in Monterrey, Mexico.
She was trained by her father, and made her Lucha Libre debut on August 23, 2008 in Deportivo La Alianza, Monterrey.
Hija De Karonte wrestles for the Lucha Libre Unida (LLU) and the Lucha Libre Femenil (LLF) wrestling promotions in Mexico.
Her finishing move is called the Cangrejo, which looks like a boston crab, but also looks more to me like Chris Jericho's old Liontamer, kind of an elevated boston crab.
Her nickname is Princesa de las Tinieblas (Princess of the Dark).

Hija De Karonte has her own Facebook page (kinda unusual for luchadoras) that you can visit here:

Luchadoras in La Legión Extranjera (the Foreign Legion)

In the Mexican wrestling promotion, Asistencia, Asesoría y Administración (AAA), there is a stable of wrestlers called La Legión Extranjera (the Foreign Legion) led by Konnan.
The membership of La Legión Extranjera rotates and changes frequently, and it's basically made up of foreign wrestlers wrestling in Mexico as heels.
Most of the membership is male, but there have been quite a few North American female wrestlers that have gone down there and competed as Luchadoras.
Some have been semi-regulars, while some have only made one or two appearances with the stable.
Interestingly, most of these ladies came from TNA and/or Shimmer.

So here are some of the female wrestlers that you may know from up here, that have at one time or another been members of La Legión Extranjera.

Rain
Rain (Bonnie Maxon) made her debut for Asistencia, Asesoría y Administración (AAA) as a member of La Legión Extranjera in 2009.
She regularly teams with Jennifer Blake (or Jennifer Blade) there.

Nicole - Roxxi
Roxxi (Nicole Raczynski) also made her debut in La Legión Extranjera in 2009.
Though she was advertised as a member of the stable, as far as I can tell she only made one appearance.

Goddess
Masked luchadora Goddess (Canadian wrestler Aurora) also only made one appearance with La Legión Extranjera.

Angel Williams
Angel Williams (Lauren Williams or better known by her fans up here as Angelina Love) appeared in La Legión Extranjera in 2007 as Canadian Angel.

Christy Hemme
TNA Knockout Christy Hemme did at least one show in AAA as a guest member of La Legión Extranjera.

Traci Brooks
Former TNA Knockout Traci Brooks was also a guest member of La Legión Extranjera.

Lorelei Lee
Wrestlicious' Tyler Texas (Lorelei Lee) appeared with Jennifer Blade at AAA's Heroes Inmortales 3 in Monterrey.
Konnan, Jennifer and Lorelei interfered in the Luchas de Apuestas (hair vs. hair match) match between Chessman and Electroshock.

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer Blake (Girl Dynamite or Jennifer Blade) regularly teams with Rain in La Legión Extranjera.

Ayako Hamada
TNA Knockout Ayako Hamada made some appearances in 2007 and 2008 with La Legión Extranjera.
Oddly, she was cast as a foreigner, but Ayako was born in Mexico City.

Christina Von Eerie
Christina Von Eerie made her debut as a member of La Legión Extranjera at the Rey de Reyes show in March 2010.

Tiana Ringer
Tiana Ringer made a guest apparance in La Legión Extranjera when she teamed up with Traci Brooks at the TNA Vs AAA event and defeated Estrellita and Tiffany.

Sarah Stock DID Go To TNA

Well I made an entry and again it happened.
This is getting weird.....
So just in case I'm on to something here.....
I am a millionaire!
Sorry, it just seems like every time I report on something it seems to happen within a week.

ANYWAY...LOL...right after I did my last entry on Sarah Stock and TNA, she debuted!
Yes "The Dark Angel" had a match with Awesome Kong in a match taped for Xplosion.
Sarah came up short, but c'mon, she was wrestling Kong!
But dont feel bad, the next night in another dark match, Sarah defeated Taylor Wilde.

Sarah still isnt on the TNA roster at their website (watch..now that I said that she'll be there by Friday) yet, even though they wasted no time getting Jenna Morasca on there.

So will we see Sarah in CMLL again?
To keep up to date with Sarah, you can visit her website here:
http://www.sarah.newscott.com/

Is Sarah Stock Going To TNA?

So is Sarah Stock (Dark Angel) going to TNA?
At first everything seemed like it was pointing at that.
But as far as I know, SuperLuchas.net is still denying reports of Stock signing with TNA.
They say that Sarah is in negotiations with TNA, but right now, thats all.
Sarah is still competing in Mexico, but we have known since the beginning that Sarah had to fulfill her obligations in CMLL before coming to TNA.
I guess like everything else, we will just have to wait and see.

Sweet Nancy

Sweet Nancy is a Puerto Rican luchadora from the town of Caguas.
Nancy has wrestled for both the International Wrestling Association (IWA) and the World Wrestling Council (WWC) in Puerto Rico.
She has held the Women's Wrestling Championship in both promotions.

IWA: La Potra

Another International Wrestling Association (IWA) luchadora, La Potra.
As far as I can tell, La Potra is a heel.

IWA: Genesis

Genesis is another Luchadora that wrestles for the Puerto Rican wrestling promotion International Wrestling Association (IWA).
She also wrestled for the other Puerto Rican professional wrestling promotion, the World Wrestling Council (WWC) where she held the WWC Women's Championship three times.
Genesis has also held the IWA Women's Wrestling title.

Black Rose

Puerto Rican luchadora Black Rose has worked for both the International Wrestling Association (IWA) and World Wrestling Council (WWC) in Puerto Rico.
She made her pro wrestling debut in 2003 and at one point held the Capitol Womens Championship.
She is/was a member of the Dominican Revolution stable along with with Bacano, Bravo and Shaka the Trucker.

The WWC Women's Championship, Part Two

Amaryllis won the belt on August 9, 1992 in Ponce, PR, but then the title was vacated in October, 1992 when Amaryllis left the WWC.
Sasha won the belt again on November 22, 1992 in Caguas, PR by defeating La Tigresa.
On April 17, 1993, La Tigresa took the title for the third time when Sasha no-showed for their rematch.
On February 25, 1998, Tigresa was arrested, and the title went vacant again.
The title was retired on March 1, 1999, but on March 25, 2006, Génesis won a Battle Royal to become the new champion when the title was revived.
And then the title was vacated on May 6, 2006...AGAIN!
On May 6, 2006, Lady Demonique was awarded the belt after she defeated Black Rose. Then Black Rose won it, Demonique won it back until Génesis got the title back again on September 30, 2006.
This was followed by Demonique winning it back for the third time, Black Rose beating her for the title, Amazona in turn defeating Black Rose, Génesis winning the title back for her third time, Killer Kat winning the belt and finally Sweet Nancy winning the title on January 24, 2009.

Here's a video of Sasha wrestling La Tigresa back in 1992.
